Reverberation time measurement
The Nor150 is also the ideal sound level meter for room acoustic measurements. The main parameter in room acoustics is the reverberation time, which is defined as the time it takes for the sound pressure level to decay by 60 dB in the room. The reverberation time can be measured using three different methods, of which the Nor150 supports methods a) and b) internally and, in combination with the Nor850 software, also method c) – all of which also have 2 channels:
(a) Excitation via an impulse
(b) Measurement with noise turned off
(c) Impulse response measurement (e.g. via SweptSine)
Simply select the “Building Acoustics” app icon and then “Reverberation Impulse” or “Reverberation Noise”. The Nor145 offers project management including averaging of several measurements and evaluation according to ISO 3382. After the measurement has been completed, the measurement data can be easily transferred to the PC (via WLAN / LAN / USB / SD card) and evaluated with the appropriate software (software for ISO 3382 / DIN 18041). As an alternative to direct measurement in the hand-held sound level meter, the Nor145 can also be controlled via WLAN from a smartphone/tablet or laptop, either via the NorVirtual app or the Nor850 software.
